Data Corporation IRVINE, Calif., Jan. 23, 2001--Raining Data Corporation formerly known as Omnis Technology Corporation, announced today that Mario I. Barrenechea has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing. Barrenechea has been serving as Raining Data's Vice President, Marketing & eCommerce. ``I am very pleased to announce today's well-deserved promotion,'' said Rich Lauer, President of Raining Data. Lauer continued, ``Mario will be leveraging his 16 years of senior management experience in technology companies to continue building and strengthening our worldwide sales and marketing effort. Mario's extensive background in both multidimensional databases and RAD development tools make him uniquely suited for this extremely important and demanding role. In the near term, he will lead the cross-selling efforts of our flagship products, Omnis Studio® and D3® to Raining Data's combined customer base.'' Mario Barrenechea joined Pick Systems in April 2000 as Vice President, Marketing & eCommerce. Mr. Barrenechea has over 16 years of senior management experience primarily with technology companies. He has held executive positions at Ardent Software, Inc., Unidata, Inc., System Builder Technologies and InSync International, Inc. From 1998 until he joined Pick Systems, Mr. Barrenechea served as Ardent Software's Director of Product Marketing for their Database & Tools products.
