Data Announces the Release of Omnis Studio for SAP
IRVINE, CA. – July 22, 2003
-
New Product allows rapid access to SAP data using the Omnis
Studio Development Environment
Raining
Data Corporation (Nasdaq: RDTA - News), a long-time provider
of scaleable, flexible and reliable data management software,
today announced the release of Omnis Studio® for SAP®
providing a rapid application development environment allowing
fast provision of applications accessing SAP data.
Omnis Studio for SAP allows SAP users to leverage their investment
by allowing rapid and easy development of fully functional GUI
applications for client/server and the web, without compromising
their strategic SAP data.
Despite the wide range of modules and industry solutions available
from SAP, there is a pressing need by end users to extend SAP
capabilities beyond SAP’s traditional metadata-driven customization
methodologies. Omnis Studio for SAP allows SAP users to quickly
develop, enhance and integrate new or existing applications.
Omnis Studio’s strength in building highly scalable, cross-platform
applications for client/server and the web is a suitable add-on
to SAP and ABAP users who demand fast and cost effective implementations.
“Omnis Studio for SAP offers a sound alternative for integrating
and extending SAP applications to multiple environments and
database platforms currently supported by Omnis Studio,” stated
Birgit Jaeger, Managing Director of Raining Data Germany GmbH.
“We have achieved seamless integration between our Rapid Application
Development Environment Omnis Studio with the Remote Function
Call (RFC) and SAP’s recommended Business Application Program
Interface (BAPI). Omnis Studio for SAP fulfills today’s IT demands
for cost effective development and rapid time-to-market deployment.”
Omnis
Studio for SAP is powered by the Information Integration Adapter
certified by SAP and was developed in conjunction with Solonde
AG, Hamburg, a SAP solutions provider. Omnis Studio provides
rapid client/server and web application development and server
deployment under all Windows 32bit, Linux, Sun Solaris, and
Mac OS X platforms. Connections to, and data transfer between
a wide variety of databases is possible, with native connections
provided to most major databases such as Oracle, Sybase and
DB2.
