Raining Data's trading symbol changed
recently from RDTAE to RDTA and compliance with all the requirements for continued listing on The Nasdaq SmallCap Market have been met. For further details of this press release and other updates, please visit our news page.

What's happening in your part of town? Here's an opportunity to let people know! Large Manufacturer Converts to mvEnterprise for WAN Environment. Mikron, a manufacturer of custom-designed PVC lineals for the vinyl window and door industry, recently converted to mvEnterprise running on RS/6000 servers. IT Manager and project leader for Mikron, Steve Christensen, cited the changeover as "completely amazing, considering we changed the entire world with regard to our back office processes." In the UK - The Raining Data Technical Thursdays held at the UK Sales office are off to a great start.  Varied presentations and enthusiastic participants have made for some great sessions so far.  On May 9th the topic will be Object Oriented Programming with Omnis Studio, Using Notation with mvDesigner will be discussed on June 13th, and a presentation of mvBase version 2.0 is slated for July 4th. mvBase 2.0 is in production!
mvBase 2.0, our first Major Release of this popular database product, includes core enhancements to its performance.  mvBase 2.0 is now the current Release version shipped. Customers wishing to obtain mvBase 1.3 need to clearly specify its product codes on their purchase orders. For convenience, please utilize these product codes for mvBase when placing your order.  For more information, email orders@rainingdata.com.

Two new Marketing Bulletins have recently been sent to our customers. RDCMB2003 - Extensions and Amendments to Pricing Policies dated February 4, 2002, puts into effect reduced Software Maintenance Agreement minimums, amends pricing policies for End-of-Life product add-on licenses, and clarifies the process for product activation and the associated pricing policies.  Marketing Bulletin RDCMB2004 - End-of Life Products Life Cycle Changes dated April 2, 2002, discusses the following: 1) changes that have been made to continue Software Maintenance Agreements, add-on user licenses, and technical support for certain End-of-Life products which were due to expire March 31, 2003; 2) announces a significant change to the Power95 product status where new system purchases of the Power95 product are now available; 3) certain D3 products have moved to End-of-Life status; and 4) introduces a new Bronze Support Software Maintenance Agreement option available April 2, 2002. mvEnterprise 4.1 is now in production! Raining Data is pleased to announce our first Minor Release of mvEnterprise 4.1 for AIX. This release centers on operational support and incorporates enhancements based on customer feedback. mvEnterprise 4.1 is now the current release version shipped. Important Announcement regarding Temporary Activations!
Beginning May 1st, activations will be given only with a valid 8-digit System ID and obtaining temporary activations using only a software serial number will no longer be an option. If you have been using temporary activations with a software serial number only to demo your products, please contact your sales representative for appropriate Demonstration copies, available at no charge.

US Omnis support customers will notice some changes when calling in for developer support. Calls will now be logged utilizing a Raining Data eight-digit System ID and support calls tracked through the main support systems for more efficient call handling and history. Your assigned System ID number can be obtained from support dispatch at the time you call in, or in advance by emailing us.omnis.sales@rainingdata.com.

"Well done" are the words to describe the first North American Omnis developers conference, AmerOmnis 2002, recently held (March 10-13) at the Ivey Spencer Conference Centre in London, Ontario, Canada.  According to Mario Barrenechea, Raining Data's SVP Worldwide Sales & Marketing, "For me personally, it was a great opportunity to meet new faces in this very passionate community." AmerOmnis, following in the path laid out by EurOmnis, was just as successful in raising the quality level of business awareness in the Omnis Community.  Attendees were very supportive and the efforts of the event organizers are to be commended.

This year's CeBit, the biggest IT fair worldwide, was a fantastic success for Omnis and Raining Data.  Recently held over eight days in Hannover, Germany (March 13-20), we achieved record software sales on the show floor. Click here for more on this story.

RescuePet Project is a Winner! RescuePet.net, launched April 15th, is expected to attract quite a bit of attention in the national press and television, and will host the most high-profile Omnis Web Client application to date. The culmination of the project will be reached in the June issue of .net magazine, which will feature Omnis Studio on the cover CD/DVD, and include a write up about the RescuePet Web site and 5-page master class written by Dr. Wilkins showing readers how to develop a Web application in Omnis.
