Meet the People
Bio for Dave Tracy

Graduating from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, IN with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Technology in 1988, I landed my first computer-related position in 1989 with a computer hardware repair and field service company by the name of National Customer Engineering located in San Diego, CA. There I hit the ground running as a computer field service maintenance technician covering Indiana and the surrounding states.

Taking a technical support position with Irvine, California based General Automation in 1991; I remained in the Indianapolis area providing support for field service technicians throughout the United States.

In August of 2001 I made the transition from General Automation to Raining Data where I currently hold the position of Senior Support Specialist, supporting legacy products such as R91 and Power95 as well as the newer products mvEnterprise and mvBase. While keeping up with the products I know best, I also have been slicing time recently to work with our D3 support specialists to enhance my knowledge of other D3 products in order to broaden my areas of expertise.

The thing I enjoy the most about my position is being able to work with different people in all regions of the United States and provide them with a resolution to their problem quickly. The remote support tools that are currently available to us have certainly evolved since the ‘good old days’ of the 1200 baud modem and dial-up connections!

On the personal side of things, I grew up in Central Illinois but have called the Indianapolis Indiana area home since graduating from college. I have been married for 11 years and have 3 wonderful boys and a great wife.

My interests away from the office include all types of outdoor recreation such as hunting with my Labrador retriever, Katie, and fishing of any kind. I also enjoy sports, digital photography and spending time with my family.
