the general availability of D3 AIX 7.5.1 for the IBM AIX
5.2 and 5.3 platforms. D3 AIX is a powerful platform for
running your critical applications. This latest release offers an enhanced
turnkey telnet interface improving functionality with telnet processes
and connections as well as many additional new features, enhancements
and product fixes.

D3 AIX 7.5.1
Key areas positively
impacted with this release include:
Database
Management
- Backups to
non-compressed pseudo-tapes no longer have a 2 GB size
limitation.
- New “sub-index”
functionality has been introduced allowing indexes that use translates
to remain valid.
Automatic
Activation
The activation process has been streamlined by implementing
a Web Service that contacts Raining Data’s Web site and automatically
activates the product.
Turnkey Telnet
Interface
- The turnkey telnet
interface has been rewritten to support new functionality such as the
ability to shell out to AIX from a D3 turnkey telnet
process.
- A new setup
procedure has been introduced to simplify the configuration of turnkey
telnet connections.
Code and Error
Detection Management
Programs can now be cataloged with
full file pathing with the catalog command’s new f-option. BASIC and
FlashBASIC debuggers have been extended for improved program
troubleshooting.
Interoperability and Middleware
- An
InactivityTimeout setting on the ODBC server startup command allows
improved troubleshooting and recovery of ODBC enabled
applications.
- The list-users
command has been enhanced to display OSFI users on remote
machines.
- A more efficient
item lock structure has been implemented and the new osfi-server-prot
command has been added to allow multi-hop server hops.
Multi-Lingual
Support and General Maintenance
- Dates can now be
customized by port.
- The account-restore
process has a new option to disable the rebuilding of indexes.
- The delete-account
command checks SQL tables and removes redundant definitions when
appropriate.
- The following
commands have now been implemented:
- "coma" command to
toggle the coma status of a line
- "flip-list"
command to invert a select list
- "log-clear-file-on|off" command to control logging of
clear-files to the FOF
- “job-status"
command to return the status of a job
- "logon-reporting
(n|f" command to control logging of failed logon attempts
to the
errors file
