Raining Data is pleased to announce the general availability of D3 MQSeries 2.0 for AIX.

D3 MQSeries

D3 MQSeries is Raining Data's implementation of the IBM MQSeries family of software. Its Application Programming Interface (API) and components are used to enable different applications running on different operating systems and business applications to exchange data using messages and queues. The D3 MQSeries API shields the developer from the complexity of data interchange with the IBM MQSeries server. Overall, with D3 MQSeries, the underlying networking layer to and from MQSeries is completely hidden from the developer.

IBM's MQSeries is a messaging system that allows heterogeneous computer systems and software to exchange data. The information is exchanged through messaging queues managed by the Queue Manager responsible for receiving messages and making them available on the network for other systems to use. MQSeries also comprises a library of functions for developers to use in their own applications. This library is a common programming interface known as Message Queue Interface (MQI). With over 35 supported platforms, MQSeries is the ultimate solution for computer system and information integration. The ability for D3 to use the MQSeries MQI library is critical to many business applications and provides solutions that would not be possible otherwise.

D3 MQSeries 2.0 is currently in production for D3 AIX 7.2.1 systems and runs on MQSeries for AIX, version 5.2 installed as a server.
