Discussion Groups (Forums) for Beta Software

At Raining Data, not only have we created discussion groups for each of our products, but we have one for each of our Beta products as well! More information about the beta program and the software currently in beta is available. These forums are for the benefit of our beta software sites, to compare information about issues, comment on new features, and to receive current information from Raining Data regarding the betas. Please see our discussion group page for more information about how all of our forums generally work, and for links to subscribe to the discussion groups specifically created for beta software.

There will be one discussion group for each beta product. At the close of the beta cycle for a given product, the forum will be closed and all subscriptions will expire. Continued discussion of products is welcome in our other public forums. Only sites that have our beta software, and their sponsoring VARs, will be allowed to subscribe. Please do not request access to these beta forums if you have not been approved to receive software for the current beta program. Participation in previous betas, or participation in betas for other products does not insure acceptance for any of these groups. If we do not recognize your e-mail address, we may send a note back to request the System ID of your beta software for verification.

All messages sent to the beta forum go to the open discussion group. This is not the same as the official e-mail address for Support for your beta products. Though our technicians will always monitor the beta forum, please report specific beta issues directly to Customer Support and the assigned ____beta@rainingdata.com e-mail address.

Examples of topics for the group compared to topics for Support:

Group:
- Action item 99999 doesn't seem to work.
- Does this release include ....
- How do I ... with this release?
- Found a problem with ...
- New feature ... works great!
Support:
- Details to repeat issue...
- Error on page 00 in installation guide.
- Please change icon or text on screen...
- Critical issue!

Critical issues should have been found by QA and generally should not be in a beta release. If you have found something that seems to be a major issue, please check with Support before taking it to the group. There might be something specific in your environment that needs to be addressed or accounted for in code, and it may not apply to most sites. Issues that are non-site-specific will be reported to the group by Beta managers from Raining Data Customer Support.

  - Software has been shipped, downloads available.
- Beta cycle coming to an end soon.
- Major issue found.
- Last call for beta notes.
- What do you think of this release?
