w3Monitor

w3Monitor monitors the number of connections that are free and in use. Adds and removes connections as specified in the w3Config file. Please see the FlashCONNECT Installation, Administrator's and Programmer's Guides for more information about this utility.

Connections are added if:

  1. There are phantoms available.

  2. There are licenses available.

  3. No more than the specified maximum will exist.

  4. The minimum number free connections are not available.

Connections are dropped if:

  1. No fewer than the specified minimum will exist.

  2. The maximum number of free connections is exceeded.

  3. More heartbeats than allowed have been skipped.

w3Line entries are deleted, if:

  1. The D3 the process does not exist.

  2. The D3 the process is a phantom process and is not running FlashCONNECT.

Note:

 

Connections started on regular ports (not phantoms) are not automatically deleted from the w3Line entry if the port is in use, even if the port is not running FlashCONNECT.

Every time a server pool/Web host are checked, but not more often than every 5 minutes, the configuration entries are reread. Changes take effect the next time the server pool and Web host are checked.
