NOTE:
Due to the inclusion of the entire new mvBASE Documentation
set on the CDROM, the mvBASE 1.3.02 CDROM image is currently
30MB overall. For your convenience, it has been split into
four separate downloads. When split up, the four parts are
some 32MB. When all four are unzipped, they take 50MB. The
first three are required. The fourth is only needed if you
wish to print out manuals and are special print quality versions
of the online manual set files. Please plan downloading time
and disk storage accordingly. |
1. |
Click
on Download mvBASE 1.3.02 Autorun/Setup/Readme (CDROM Image
part 1 of 4), and when prompted, choose the option for saving
a file. Save the file into an empty folder. Do not name the
folder mvBASE. We suggest using mvINSTALL. |
2. |
Change
to folder mvINSTALL and execute the self-extracting distribution
file. A popup dialog box titled mvBASE 1.3.02 (CDROM Image
part 1 of 4) appears. Click on OK. |
3. |
The
WinZip Self Extractor runs. You will need to enter the name
of the directory where the installation files will be unzipped
into. You can use the same mvINSTALL directory that you downloaded
into. Click on Unzip. After the files have been extracted,
a final popup dialog box stating how many files were extracted
(60) will appear. Click on OK to close the dialog box, then
click on CLOSE in the main WinZip dialog box. |
4. |
Repeat
the above steps for:
Download mvBASE 1.3.02 Support (CDROM Image part 2 of 4)
Download mvBASE 1.3.02 Technical Publications (CDROM Image
part 3 of 4)
And optionally
Download mvBASE 1.3.02 Technical Publications: Print Quality
Manuals (CDROM Image part 4 of 4) |
5. |
Using
Windows Explorer, open the folder mvINSTALL and double-clickon
the AutoRun.exe item in that folder. This will display the
same Welcome screen and CDROM menu that would appear if you
had a physical CDROM and had just inserted it in a CDROM drive. |
6. |
Choose
the Install mvBASE Release 1.3.02 option. Follow the installation
instructions on the screen. |
7. |
After
installation is complete, you may delete the mvINSTALL\\mvBASE\\Setup
folder and the mv1302cdx.exe downloads to free up disk space
if you wish. |
8. |
It
is strongly recommended that you also read the mvBASE 1.3.02
Installation/Release notes which can be viewed from the CDROM
menu (in Microsoft Word format) or in PDF format from the
mvBASE Documentation menu which is displayed when you select
Access mvBASE Documentation on the CDROM menu. |
| Floppy
Disk Images |
The
5 floppy disk images do not contain the new mvBASE manual
set, either in online or print quality versions. They do contain
the product itself. For each of the floppy disk images, perform
steps 1 through 3 below, and then finish with the remaining
steps. |
1. |
Click
on Download mvBASE 1.3.02 (Floppy Disk 1 of 5), and when prompted,
choose the option for saving a file. Save the file into an
empty folder. Do not name the folder MVBASE. We suggest using
mvINSTALL. Do not attempt to save these self-extracting zip
files directly to a 3.5 floppy disk since:
a) they are NOT the diskette images themselves - they CONTAIN
the images
b) they will not necessarily fit on 3.5 floppy disks. |
2. |
Change
to folder mvINSTALL and execute the self-extracting distribution
file. A popup dialog box titled mvBASE Release 1.3.02 (Floppy
Disk n of 5) appears. Click on OK. |
3. |
The
WinZip Self Extractor runs. You will need to enter the name
of the directory where the installation files will be unzipped
into. You can use the same mvINSTALL directory that you downloaded
into. Click on Unzip. After the files have been extracted,
a final popup dialog box stating how many files were extracted
will appear. Close the dialog box, then close the main WinZip
dialog box. |
4. |
After
all 5 floppy disk images have been extracted, you will find
five sub-folders: disk1, disk2, disk3, disk4 and disk5. Each
of these sub-folders can be copied to 3.5 diskettes for further
distribution to systems without CD-ROM drives. You may also
use the diskettes if you do not have the mvBASE product CD-ROM,
no access to the web site nor e-mail capability. |
5. |
Using
Windows Explorer, open the folder mvINSTALL\\disk1\\setup
and double-click on the setup.exe item. If you are installing
from the floppy disks created in step 4, open the A:\\disk1\\setup
folder on the first floppy disk and double-click on the setup.exe
item. Follow the installation instructions on the screen.
When further disks are prompted for, enter mvINSTALL\\disk2
or A:\\disk2 as appropriate. Repeat until all 5 floppy disks
(or images) have been installed. |
6. |
After
installation is complete, you may delete the mvINSTALL folder
to free up disk space. |
7. |
It
is recommended that you also download the installation instructions.
They are in Microsoft Word 6\/95 format and Adobe PDF format.
(The latest Acrobat 4.0 reader is included on the CDROM, or
can be obtained from www.adobe.com). |
