Upgrading
to Windows NT 4.0 Service Packs 4 or 5 if you use Digi Serial
I/O
We
produce Patch Sets for mvBase that offer resolutions to known
problems. Microsoft Corporation does the same for Windows NT
in the form of Service Packs. Both Pick and Microsoft recommend
that you always keep up to date with the most recent Patch Sets
(Pick) or Service Packs (MS).
If
you are upgrading your Windows NT Server or Workstation to NT
Service Pack 4 or 5 and you use Digi ISA/PCI AccelePort C/X
C/CON 8 & 16 serial I/O then you should follow this recommendation
from Digi:
The
Digi C/X driver should be installed after Windows NT
Service Pack 4 or 5 has been installed. If the driver is already
installed, remove it, perform the upgrade to Service Pack 4
or 5 and then reinstall it.
Support is aware of a few incidents where customers have not
un-installed/re-installed the driver when upgrading to SP4/5
and the mvBase workstation would not start.
NOTE:
If you are going to have to re-install the Digi driver, our
Engineering staff strongly recommends that you install the most
recent version from Digi.
As
of December 1999 this is the 'W' driver. It has been certified
for use with mvBase. It can be obtained from Digi's web site
at:
http://support.digi.com/support/drivers/winnt/4000821w.exe.
Installation
instructions can be obtained from:
http://support.digi.com/support/drivers/winnt/installu.txt
Please
note:
mvBase
1.3.01 (with any 1.3.01 Patch Set) is certified on Windows NT
4.0 Service Pack 4. mvBase 1.3.02 (with any 1.3.02 Patch Set)
is certified on Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 5.
