TechTip:
Windows & D3 ODBC Startup
On some
systems running Windows 2000 or Windows XP, and running the
D3 ODBC service, the users cannot log in to the D3
system. This is usually caused by the D3 ODBC service
starting before the D3 Virtual Machine service has
started.
To correct
this, change the Startup parameter of the D3 ODBC Server to
Manual and add the following to your USER-COLDSTART:
!net start
D3ODBCSV
Services
will show that the D3 ODBC service is started. You
should be able to make an ODBC connection to the D3
system at this point. Also a !net start will show that the D3
ODBC service is started.
